ABOUT US
The Boston Jazz Society, Inc. was formed in February 1973. Its mission was to promote jazz in the New England area. The music scene was changing and there were fewer venues for jazz.
The Boston Jazz Society, Inc. dedicated itself to providing scholarships for promising musicians in area music schools. Students at Berklee College of Music , and The New England Conservatory of Music have been awarded scholarships from The Boston Jazz Society, Inc. for over thirty years.
Also, The Boston Jazz Society, Inc. hosted countless musical events from summer barbecues at private homes and area colleges, to intimate cabaret style concerts with many of the finest musicians in jazz.
The Boston Jazz Society is listed in the Smithsonian Natural Museum of American History's directory of Jazz societies listing.
The Boston Jazz Society, Inc. has kept jazz alive in so many ways.
The Board of the Boston Jazz Society, Inc. is small group of music enthusiasts who are actively engaged in promoting the art of jazz through concerts, educational programs and scholarships.
